Make Wool Balls from Wool Yarn
I recently created my first YouTube tutorial on how to make wool balls from wool yarn. I sort of grew obsessed with creating wool balls before Thanksgiving so I purchased some wool yarn from Joann Fabrics. But when I tried to follow the tutorials I found online, I kept getting balls with cracks in them.
I’m making wool balls because my cats (owned and foster) absolutely love them. They are lightweight, washable and can be fused with catnip. (Just put a little catnip in a bag with the balls for a few days.) But I know other people have felted balls to make earrings, garland, decorations and dryer balls. Whatever you want to do, this method will work for you.
So, I started playing with the yarn myself and discovered my own method that won’t create any cracks. It’s super easy and you only need a few things:
Wool Yarn (I use K+C Nordic yarn from Joann)
No Rinse Wool Soap (Amazon Link)
Bamboo Sushi Mat (Amazon Link)
Mesh Laundry Bag (Amazon Link)
Plus these things which you should have already: Towel, Tongs, Hot Water, Scissors,& Measuring tape
I’ve posted the video below. Hope you enjoy it and I hope you enjoy making balls!
